There's been an interesting twist in the Los Angeles obscenity trial of Ira Isaacs for distributing sexual fetish videos, of the bestiality and defecation variety (not to be confused with the Max Hardcore trial in Tampa which ended in a conviction).
According to the Los Angeles Times, Isaacs says the videos he sells are works of art and asked, "Do we really want to throw artists in jail in America?"
Well, maybe. The Bush administration does only have seven months left to throw every American in jail.
Isaacs said he would testify on his own behalf and planned to give jurors a crash course on how views of sex have changed since the time James Joyce and D.H. Lawrence were labeled obscene. (Maybe 100 years from now college classes will analyze shitting on women to the same
degree.)
So what was the twist in the trial?
Judge Alex Kozinski, who was originally considered to be a good break for Isaacs because of his staunch views defending the first amendment, has turned out to be a bad break. Kozinski had to declare a mistrial and recuse himself after he acknowledged having his own Web site with sexually explicit photos and videos. Um, what?
Kozinski told the L.A. Times that among the pictures on his site were photos of naked women on all fours painted to look like cows and a video of a half-dressed man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal. He defended some of the adult content as "funny" but conceded that other postings were inappropriate.
Seriously, it gets better.
Another case of a Liberal activist judge run amok? Nope.
Kozinski was appointed a federal in judge in 1985 by President Reagan and was named chief judge of the 9th Circuit last year by President Bush. He is considered a judicial conservative on most issues, says the Times, and has been mentioned as a possible Supreme Court nominee.
Well, not anymore.

Hypocrisy!
Seriously.
Hypocrisy... sure
but that video of women painted to look like cows getting fucked sounds like pure genius
