Two time California gubernatorial candidate Mary Carey, who was last seen on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” is going for a more attainable political goal.

She’s running for California State Assembly as Mary “Carey” Cook.

Carey told VH1.com that she feels the State Assembly would be a better place to begin her career in politics. “I want to energize people into caring about local politics again – much like we've seen in the national primaries. But unlike one of the presidential primary contenders, I'm actually a politician you'd want to get screwed by!"

At press time, Carey has not taken the campaign route of Tania Derveaux who ran for a senate seat in Belgium in May 2007. Derveaux posed for a billboard promising to deliver 40,000 blowjobs, while the other candidates only discussed how they would create jobs. You know, that soul-sucking place you have to go just to get the money to buy a good DVD full of nothing but blowjobs, the fun kind.
